Power to people
The power of pleasure is in your own hands – literally! The most common sexual practice on the planet isn’t what you’d think – it’s masturbation. You don’t have to wait for someone to give you sexual satisfaction, and it’s not just something you do if you’re not in a relationship. In magazine surveys, 72% of married men and 68% of married women said they masturbated.   Many women learn what turns them on and then they can teach their partner. People have different sexual needs and that should be okay. But apparently it’s not because in 1995, Surgeon General Dr. Jocelyn Elders was fired for saying that “masturbation should be taught†in response to questions about safe sex. Husbands and wives hide it from each other and it is truly a “dirty little secret†to so many people. Silly, isn’t it? Kind of reminds me of the days when people used to whisper about “the curse†and “the change,†days that are now gone because people realize that menstruation and menopause are a part of life. How wonderful that great information is out there for free, such as Cory Silverberg’s articles on About.com, Myths About Masturbation and How to Masturbate for Women.
